Algebra is an important and very old branch of mathematics that deals with solving algebraic equations subject to specific conditions. In the \(3^{rd}\) century, Diophantus wrote a book called "Arithmetica" in thirteen volumes, of which only six has survived. This book contains many solutions to real-life problems.

In the \(9^{th}\) century, Al-Khwarizmi, a Persian mathematician, wrote a book called "The Compendious book of calculation by completion and balancing", which provided the most appropriate methods of solving equations. From this book, the word "Algebra" has evolved as the misspelling of the word "al-jabr". Thus, he is considered as the "Father of Algebra".

In this topic, we are going to learn about examples of solving the real-life problems.
