The agriculture-based Neolithic Revolution started approximately \(12,000 \)years ago when humans had favourable climatic conditions that enabled them to establish permanent settlements in areas such as the Middle East'sFertile Crescent and animals domestication and plants.

Humans required time to learn proper farming methods and ways to fight diseases spread by proximity to livestock before making the full-time transition from hunting and gathering. Early civilizations in Mesopotamia, China, and India grew as a result of their success in this region, and by \(1500 CE\), most populations were dependent on domesticated food sources.

Modern-day hunter-gatherers have established themselves in a variety of locations around the world. The San, also known as the Bushmen of southern Africa and the Sentinelese of the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal, are two of the most well-known tribes, both known for intensely resisting any interaction with the outside world.
