An adverb is a word used to modify a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.
Adverbs often end in -ly, but some (such as slow) look the same as their adjective counterparts.
Example:
1. Akash is very tall.
2. The race finished too quickly.
3. Fortunately, Rahul recorded Tintin’s win.
Adverbs and Verbs
Adverbs modify verbs. They describe the way an action is happening.
Example:
1. Smartina sings loudly in the room.
- How does Smartina sing? Loudly.

2. My dog waits impatiently for his master.
- How does my dog wait? Impatiently.

3. I will seriously consider your suggestion.
-  How will I consider your suggestion? Seriously.
Important!
Linking verbs doesn’t go well with adverbs, such as feel, smell, sound, seem, and appear, need adjectives.
