USE

We use Past Simple

1. for actions that happened at a definite time in the past. We know when they happened.

They went to the cinema two days ago.

2. for actions that happened one after another in the past.

Yesterday morning I had a shower and then I had breakfast.

3. to talk about people who are no longer alive.

Shakespeare wrote a lot of plays.
