Shops are the places where you can buy almost anything. Every big city has a greengrocer's, a bakery, a supermarket, a department store, a gift shop and lots of other kinds of shops.I often do groceries at a supermarket. I like that I can see and touch the item before buying it. Department stores are good too. They have everything you can possibly want in one place: household appliances, food, clothes, beauty, accessories and a lot more.
In the menswear department you can find shirts and T-shirts, suits and tuxedos, coats and ties. In the womenswear department there are dresses, trousers, sweaters, pullovers, jeans, etc. In beauty department they sell cosmetics, creams, lotions, shampoos, etc. As for the food, we buy buns and croissants at the bakery, various types of meat like lamb, pork, beef, poultry at the butchers. If we want some fruit and vegetables we visit greengrocer’s. At the dairy there are milk, sour cream, cheese, eggs, etc.
I think it’s important to support local farmers who sell their own products. Although for many people it’s much more convenient and fast to shop at the supermarket.
