5. Find the value of the variable for equal roots

If the following equations have two equal roots, then find the value of '\(b\)'.

1. \(x^2 + bx + 3 = 0\)

\(b = 6\) or \(b = -6\)
\(b = 2 \sqrt{3}\) or \(b = -2 \sqrt{3}\)
\(b = 3 \sqrt{2}\) or \(b = -3 \sqrt{2}\)
\(b = 12\) or \(b = -12\)

2. \(16x^2 + bx + 9 = 0\)

\(b = 576\) or \(b = -576\)
\(b = 12\) or \(b = -12\)
\(b = 24\) or \(b = -24\)
\(b = 16\) or \(b = -16\)
