1. Generally, when metals are treated with mineral acids, hydrogen gas is liberated but when metals (except \(Mn\) and \(Mg\)), treated with \(HNO_3\), hydrogen is not liberated. Why?

Metals do not react with \(HNO_3\).
\(HNO_3\) is an oxidising agent and it converts \(H_2\) to \(H_2O\).
\(HNO_3\) is not a mineral acid.
\(HNO_3\) is reduced to \(NO\) when it is in concentrated form.

2. What are the constituents of solder alloy? Which property of solder makes it suitable for welding electrical wires?
