Answer variants:
Take the tray from a discarded matchbox's interior.
Join the free ends of two wires together for a while.
Wrap an electric wire around the tray a few times.
Connect the other terminal of the battery with another piece of wire.
Connect one free end of the wire to one of the battery terminals.
Allow the other end to be free.
Due to the magnetic effect of current, the compass needle deflects.
Inside it, place a little compass needle.
Your tester, with two free wire ends, is now ready to use.
