Natural Resources
We know that resources obtained from nature are called natural resources. They are broadly classified into two based on the exhaustibility.
  • Renewable Resources
  • Non-renewable Resources
Renewable Resources:

Resources found in abundance in nature and can be used again and again are called renewable resources. These resources are non-depletable and replenishable in nature. This renewable resource is further divided into:
  1. Exhaustible Natural Resources
  2. Inexhaustible Natural Resources
1. Exhaustible Natural Resources:

These are natural resources found in limited quantity in nature and can be depleted with overuse by humans, for example, soil, groundwater, etc.

2. Inexhaustible Natural Resources:

These are natural resources found in unlimited quantity in nature and cannot be depleted with overuse by humans, for example, sunlight, air etc.

Non-renewable Resources:

They are found limited in nature and are called non-renewable resources. These resources are depletable and non-replenishable in nature with overuse by humans, for example, coal, petroleum, natural gas etc.
