Robert Hooke was a English philosopher and inventorEnglish scientist and Physiatrist. He improved the microscope and developed a electron microscopecompound microscope. One day he made thin sections of cork and observed many small identical chambers small non identical chambers  through his microscope. They were hexagonalheptagon in shape. Hooke used the term "cellchyma " for the first time in his book Micrographia, which he published in 16651889.
