Devotional literature

The emergence of bhakti or devotional literature resulted from the devotional movement in South India and later in the North.
Kamba Ramayanam, Sekkizhar's Periyapuranam, Nalayira Divyaprabhandham, composed by \(12\)Azhwars and compiled by Nathamuni, Devaram, composed by Appar, Sambandar, and Sundarar and compiled by Nambiyandar Nambi, and Manikkavasakar's Thiruvasagam were all written during the Chola era.

The Bhakti Movement in South India was followed up by Jayadeva's Gita Govindam (\(12^t\)\(^h\) century). The Bhakti Movement in India was also influenced by Kabir Das, a \(15^t\)\(^h\)-century mystic poet.
Secular Literature:
Gangadevi and Krishnadevaraya wrote poems called Madura Vijayam and Amuktamalyatha, which provide insight into the events and people associated with the Vijayanagara Empire.
The Rajput king's valour is depicted in Chand Bardai's Prithiviraj Raso. We don't know what happened during the Turkish invasion of India because there are no Indian accounts. Kalhana's Rajtarangini was the only exception for pre-Islamic times (\(11^t\)\(^h\) century).
