A report is a specific form of writing. It is an account given of a particular matter, especially in the form of an official document, after thorough investigation or consideration.
report is usually short and sharp. The main aim of a report is to identify and examine issues, events, or findings that have taken place. It generally analyses a situation or problem, often making recommendations for future action. Since it is a factual paper, it needs to be clear and well-structured.
Structure of a Report
1. Title: Should be clear, brief and relevant to the content. It should also briefly describe what the report is about.
2. Introduction: Should give the aim and scope of the report. In addition to that, it should also give an outline as to how the report is organised.
3. Main body: Can be divided into sections and may contain headings/subheadings.
4. Conclusion: Should summarise the main points from the content.
5. References: References to sources are to be provided if necessary.
A Report on the Seminar -"How to write a Report?"
A seminar was arranged on 21.10.2020 at the school auditorium on the topic "How to Write a Report?". Selective students from classes VI to X became a part of the event.
The event began with the felicitation of the keynote speaker.  Mrs Geetha introduced the gathering with the objectives and goals of the workshop. Dr Ganesan, the keynote speaker, explained the importance of writing an appropriate report. A detailed and clear explanation was given as to how to write a report. The expected structure and the proper usage of language became a part of his speech. A fair amount of references and illustrations were provided to make the seminar exciting and worthwhile. After a recess,  Dr Ganesan exhibited reasonable measures that can be engaged at the personal level to reduce errors while framing a report.
Hence, the seminar proved to be highly informative and equally engaging. By the end of the day, the students took home inspiration to write a convincing report on the seminar they had attended.
