Physical exercise is any bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness.
Physical exercises are performed for various reasons, including an increase in growth and development, muscle strengthening, strengthening the cardiovascular system, developing athletic skills, strengthening the immune system, weight loss or maintenance, and enjoyment.

Physical activity reduces anxiety, depression, enhances thinking, learning and analytical skills. It also helps prevent hypertension, improves mental health, quality of life and well-being, and manages adult obesity.

Important!
India has the second-highest number of obese children in the world after China. There are about \(14.4\) \(million\) children in India who are overweight. China has about \(15.3\) million \(children\) and ranks number one. The lowest number of obese children are in Bangladesh and Vietnam.
Importance of rest:
Do you know that sleep is important for good health as diet and exercise?

A proper amount of rest is vital for a person's physical and mental health. Rest is very important, like nutrition and physical activity for growth, development, good health, and metabolism.

Sleep helps in the body's recovery, strengthens the immune system, allows muscle tissue time to recover, and provide energy. Conversely, not getting enough sleep leads to being less physically active during the day and reduced muscle strength.
Important!
Deep sleep for about \(7\) to \(8\) hours is the most important and critical time for the body to repair and renew. It is essential for physical renewal, growth and hormone regulation. Without deep sleep, the body feels tired, and the person will get sick, depressed, and will gain a lot of weight.
Personal Cleanliness:
Hygiene is practices that are performed to maintain and preserve our health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO),
Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that help to maintain health and prevent the spread of diseases.
Personal hygiene refers to maintaining the cleanliness of one's own body and clothing to preserve overall health and well-being.
Personal hygiene involves the practices performed by an individual to care for one’s bodily health and well-being through cleanliness. Cleanliness protects against the spread of any infectious disease.

Personal hygiene includes personal habit choices as how frequently you take bath, wash hands, trim fingernails, and change clothing. It also includes awareness to keep surfaces in the home and workplace, including bathroom facilities, clean and pathogen-free.
Components of hygiene and frequency of cleaning:

Oral Rehydration Solution or ORS:
Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) is a combination of electrolytes, sugar (carbohydrates to give energy) and water taken orally by mouth to absorb water and electrolytes into the body. Vomiting, diarrhoea, and loose motions result in a loss of water and a salt imbalance in the body.

Loss of water (dehydration) leads to serious problems. This can be prevented by consuming ORS at short intervals, which restores the lost electrolyte and fluid balance.

Steps to prepare ORS:

1. Take a litre of boiled water and cool it.

2. Add half a teaspoon of salt and \(6\) teaspoons of sugar in it.

3. A few drops of lemon juice can also be added if required.

4. Stir the contents of the preparation until the sugar and salt dissolve in water.

5. Now, ORS is ready and given to the person suffering from dehydration, vomiting or loose motions.
