The North European plain extended from the southern United Kingdom east to Russia. It consists of parts of France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Poland, the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania), and Belarus.
The elevation of most of the Great European plain lies below \(152 meters\) (\(500 feet\)). It is wide towards East and narrow towards west. Some of the major rivers of Europe running across the region and depositing silt are the Seine, the Rhine, the Danube and the Don.
The climate of this region is suitable for a wide variety of seasonal crops. And, these physical features and climate paves the way for communication, travel and agriculture development. It also has a rich deposits of coal and iron ore. Hence, these plains remains the most densely populated with important cities like Paris, Moscow and Berlin.
Important plains in this region: Andalusian plain, the Hungarian plain and the Wallachian plain
