Learn moreAlgebra plays a significant role in real-life situations like finding the age, and cost of items, etc.
Now, we shall learn the real-life application of linear equations in three variables.
The position of an object like ship, aeroplane, or any other object on Earth can be located using latitude, longitude and altitude. To find these \(3\) satellites were positioned to get three equations. In these \(3\) equations, \(2\) are linear equations, and \(1\) is a quadratic equation. Thus, to find the position of an object, we can solve for the variables latitude, longitude and altitude and find the values, respectively. This concept is the basis of the Geo-Positioning System (GPS).
